Review - Sister Dear by Laura McNeill

BLURB
All Allie Marshall wants is a fresh start.  But when dark secrets refuse to stay buried, will her chance at a new life be shattered forever?

Convicted of a crime she didn’t commit, Allie watched a decade of her life vanish – time that can never be recovered. Now, out on parole, Allie is determined to clear her name, rebuild her life, and reconnect with the daughter she barely knows.

But Allie’s return home shatters the quaint, coastal community of Brunswick, Georgia. Even her own daughter Caroline, now a teenager, bristles at Allie’s claims of innocence. Refusing defeat, a stronger, smarter Allie launches a battle for the truth, digging deeply into the past even if it threatens her parole status, personal safety, and the already-fragile bond with family.

As her commitment to finding the truth intensifies, what Allie ultimately uncovers is far worse than she imagined. Her own sister has been hiding a dark secret—one that holds the key to Allie’s freedom.

MY REVIEW
WOW!!!! AMAZING!!! I can't say enough about this book!  It grabs you, pulls you in and has you guessing all the way to the end.  I have been trying different genres lately and after having Laura on my blog several times, and reading the blurb about the book I knew I needed to get my hands on a copy!
Laura does not disappoint and I can't wait to read more from this amazing author.  Her writing is suburb, her character dimension is amazing and her multiple story lines are perfectly written.

Allie draws you in from the get go.  You feel the only thing she is guilty of is being in the wrong place at the wrong time.  As you start this amazing journey of proving her innocence you really can feel her pain and hurt that she is subjected to day after day from family, friends and her community. How could they turn their backs on her?  They knew her character, they knew what she stood for and where she was going on life.  But if there is one thing that we all know about the deep south, it's football is the key to living and if you were accused of killing the a top rated football coach in your hometown then you knew your days were numbered on the outside.

I give Allie credit though, she did her time, got out early and moved back home to be closer to her daughter.  She didn't try to run and hide, she faced her demons and set out to prove her innocence.

The story has many ups and downs from the high of Allie's release, the low of Caroline wanting her to leave her alone and go away, to the high of Allie running into her high school sweetheart just to name a few.

I will end by saying that this story has many twists and turns and ups and downs.  Each page will have you wanting more and putting it down and reading later will not be an option. Prepare for long nights of reading ahead, grab a glass of wine and enjoy!

WINE SELECTION
With all the craziness that will have you on the edge of your seat, I'm going to do with a deep red wine - deep red sangria.  Delicious!

MY RATING
Hands down, Sister Dear, is a 5 wine glasses selection.  I couldn't put this selection down and was reading it morning, noon and night!  Pick a copy up ASAP and enjoy!
